## Assumption of Risk I understand that operating and riding aboard a boat involves inherent and unavoidable risks — including weather, waves and wake, collision, capsizing, mechanical failure, slips and falls, drowning, and serious injury or death. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, for myself and my guests. ## Release of Liability In consideration of being permitted to rent and operate a vessel from JR Boating, I, on behalf of myself and all members of my party, release and hold harmless JR Boating, its owners, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to my rental, including those caused by ordinary negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law. ## Safe & Sober Operation - I will operate the vessel safely, prudently, and in compliance with all federal, Texas, and local boating laws. - I will NOT operate the vessel while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or any drug. Boating While Intoxicated is a crime in Texas and grounds for immediate termination of the rental without refund. - I will not exceed the vessel's rated capacity and will keep a proper lookout at all times. ## Rules & Equipment - Everyone aboard will have and, where required, wear a U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket. Children under 13 must wear one while underway. - I will stay within the designated operating area and obey all marina, no-wake, and posted rules. - I will return the vessel on time, at the agreed fuel level, and in clean condition. ## Operator Eligibility I confirm every operator meets the minimum age for this vessel and holds any Texas boater-education certification required by law (anyone born on or after September 1, 1993). ## Damage, Fuel & Security Deposit I am financially responsible for loss of or damage to the vessel, motor, trailer, and equipment during my rental beyond normal wear, and for fuel, refueling, excessive-cleaning, and late-return fees as disclosed at checkout. A refundable security hold is authorized on my card and released after a clean, on-time return. ## Minors If anyone under 18 is aboard, I am their parent or legal guardian, or I have the guardian's authority, and I assume responsibility for their supervision and conduct.
